BERGSE DIEPSLUIS OVERKANT
Nederland, Zeeland
Bergse Diepsluis Overkant is a nice alternative to the popular dive site Bergse Diepsluis Oesterdam. The marine life is less exuberant. Still, there is more than enough to see. The basalt blocks on the dike provide a habitat for pipefish, shrimps, butterfish and eels. But, check out the sandy bottom and the fields of oysters, sea lettuce and red seaweed as well. Bergse Diepsluis Overkant is also home to seahorses and cuttlefish. There are cuttlefish tents all over the bottom. There is a large grassy area in front of the entry point where you can organise a fun club event.
Particulars
Enter Bergse Diespluis Overkant via the beach at low tide. At high tide the site is entered via a stairway.
Warnings
Beware of boat traffic at Bergse Diepsluis Overkant during the summer season. Boats sometimes sail close to the shore even though there are prohibition signs indicating this is forbidden. Lots of daytime recreation in summer.
