BLIJKPOLDER SPORTHAL
Nederland, Noord Holland
Blijkpolder Sporthal has everything for a fun dive. It's a varied dive site with good visibility and therefore an absolute must for those who want something different than the nearby dive sites Blijkpolder and Spiegelpolder. The underwater scenario consists of vegetation, old trees, a beautiful peat wall and several wrecks. Blijkpolder Sporthal is also a quiet location with generally very good visibility. The name Blijkpolder Sportshal refers to sports bar, De Blijk, on the Blijklaan 3. There are no facilities except for a buoy line and some toilets in the season.
Particulars
Enter Blijkpolder Sporthal via the small beach. The water is no deeper than 1 meter up to the buoy line. Now dive right (south) at 120 degrees to a depth of 7 meters. Then shift your course to 210 degrees and keep following the 7-meter line up to some old trees and tree stumps. You're sure to spot a few pike here. Now change your course to 320 degrees to slowly ascend and return. On your way back you'll find a sailboat, a car wreck and a rowboat. End your dive in front of the beach following the beautiful peat wall full of holes, crayfish and eels.
Warnings
Blijkpolder Sporthal attracts swimmers and pleasure boaters in good weather. The firemen's jetty on the south side is closed off by a fence. Considerable walk from parking lot to dive site. Bring a trolley or a push cart.
