ELLERTSHAAR
Nederland, Drenthe
Ellertshaar is a small forest pond where only diveclub Hydrofiel is allowed to dive, with permission from the Forestry Commission, Staatsbosbeheer. It's a small, fragile pond. The water used to be clear but this declined over the years. In March 2024 visibility first seemed to be improving again. Ellertshaar has no objects, except for some trunks, and no large marine life. The site is home to frogs, toads, larvae and predatory beetles. Dive along the beautiful reed banks to discover these species.
Particulars
Ellertshaar is named after the town of Ellertshaar in the province of Drenthe and is part of Borger-Odoorn. The site is located west of a larger lake where sand is extracted for the production of masonry and concrete sand.
Warnings
Access Ellertshaar is limited. Dive club Hydrofiel only, with permission Staatsbosbeheer.
