GAT VAN WAALRE
Nederland, Noord Brabant
Gat van Waalre is an attractive freshwater dive site set in peaceful, green surroundings. Gat van Waalre has a predominantly firm, sandy bottom and reed-covered banks. Visibility is often reasonable to good. In the shallows, dense water plants and reeds provide shelter for sticklebacks, tadpoles and other small aquatic life. Larger fish are most likely to be encountered around the reed beds along the banks. Deeper down, vegetation becomes sparser and the underwater landscape consists mainly of sand, stones and rubble. The combination of reed beds, clear stretches of water and a quiet setting makes Gat van Waalre an enjoyable dive, although access is restricted. License required.
