GOUDZWAARD 26A
Nederland, Zeeland
Goudzwaard, also known as Valentine’s Dive Site, is a relatively unknown dive site near Zoetersbout. The site is a nice alternative if Zoetersbout is too crowded. During your dive you come across oyster islands that are worth scanning for small marine life such as, snails and shrimp species. Turn around halfway through the dive and come back via the shallows. Also of interest in Goudzwaard are the remnants of the old sea wall and the sepia beds. Common species are lobsters, crabs and cuttlefish. Diving outside the turn of the tide is possible. The dive site Goudzwaard has been adopted by the Souldivers dive school via the Dutch foundation, Stichting Anemoon, and supports species monitoring at the site four times a year.
Particulars
Enter Goudzwaard at high tide near the picnic table on the dike. Walking on the soft dry bottom at low tide is prohibited.
Warnings
Goudzwaard is located near a TBB (Access Restriction Order) area. This means the soft substrate of drying mudflats and salt marshes may not be entered. Goudzwaard is close to the shipping channel. Do not make free ascents.
