HALVERWEGE
Nederland, Zeeland
Halverwege is a nice dive site, halfway between the dive sites Zeelandbrug (where you park) and Kulkenol. The site was discovered by sport divers Joop and Felice Stalenburg. It's a quiet dive site with great biodiversity. Common species in Halverwege are cuttlefish, squid, seahorses, sea anemones, lobsters, crabs, sea turtles, polyps and much more. There are several willow structures placed at Halverwege, that attract not only cuttlefish but also seahorses and squid. Halverwege is a perfect alternative to the beloved but very busy dive site, Zeelandbrug. From Halverwege, you can also make a nice drift dive back to the Zeelandbrug.
Particulars
Halverwege is located 200 meters west of the Zeelandbrug. Enter the water from the westernmost dike step, from the car park. You can also enter the water next to the first fishing platform on the paved dike wall. The path towards it may be experienced as uncomfortable though.
Warnings
Watch out for boat traffic at Halverwege. Don't make free ascents. Halverwege is a fishing section. Choose another dive site when professional fishermen are busy. They sail close to the shore.
