OUDE KADEMUUR
Nederland, Zeeland
The Oude Kademuur is located south of the Zeelandbrug, between the Zeeland bridge and the Val. The dive site lies at the height of the second pillar, but can't be reached from the shore. Like the Zeelandbrug it's an absolutely fantastic dive spot. Dive along the old quay wall of Zierikzee that lies between 3 and 22 meters. On and around the old, overgrown stones you'll find a biodiversity that is even larger than at the Zeelandbrug. The Oude Kademuur is home to lobsters, crayfish, crabs, gobies and sea bass and the number of slugs is unbelievable.
Particulars
Enter dive site Oude Kademuur from the boat to find the old quay wall. The stone heaps are completely covered with anemones, carnations and much more. Large crabs and crayfish hide between the holes and cracks of the wall, while big sea basses are swimming around you. Are you a fan of nudybranches? They are all there in all colors and variations.
Warnings
Rent a boat or book a boat dive, for example at the Tertius. The Tertius has all facilities on board, also for the disabled. Current can sometimes be considerable. Keep an eye on the slope to avoid ending up in the fairway.
