PREEKHIL RIF
Nederland, Zuid Holland
Preekhil rif is typically a spot where the disadvantage is also the advantage. The nearest parking lot is in the harbor of Ouddorp, an 800 meter walk. But the peace and beauty you get in return are unmatched. The site is even more beautifully than in Preekhil De Val and De Bunker. Fields of sponges, oysters, sea anemones and sea dahlias glide past you in the clear water. The distance doesn't even need not be an issue. Bring a wagon to transport your dive gear and the problem is solved. A boat dive is, of course, also an option. Pay attention to opening hours when diving from the shore.
Particulars
Preekhil rif can be reached from the shore or by boat. Park your car at the port of Ouddorp or at the Preekhilpolder parking lot and start walking. The entry point lies exactly in front of buoy SP27. There is a bench where you can gear up. Then clamber down the dike as carefully as possible. In front of you is a beautiful, desolate diving area with much to see.
Warnings
Don't enter the water east of Preekhil reef, towards Ouddorp harbor. There is a prohibition sign. Preekhil rif's entry point is rocky and can therefore be slippery. Bring a rope to enter the water if necessary. Long walk from parking lot. Bring a wagon. Nature and silence area. Accessible only from sunrise to sunset.
