SLIJK EWIJK NOORDPLAS
Nederland, Gelderland
Diving in Slijk-Ewijk Noordplas is substantially different from the three other dive sites on the south side. The banks here consist of reed beds, where fish hide. Below 5 meters you find the first clay blocks. They are home to crayfish. More at depth follows an area of high, jagged clay walls. Follow the bank in a westerly direction after entering the water. In summer, a wide plant zone full of fish runs here up to 7 meters deep. Then turn north toward the clay blocks and clay walls and return. Slijk-Ewijk Noordplas is a site for everyone. To the right of the entry point is a shallow area, up to 5 meters depth, which is perfect for beginners and snorkelers. Paid parking.
Particulars
Enter Slijk-Ewijk Noordplas. Unfortunately no easy entry here via a beach but a rather fast sloping grass bank. Help each other and give each enough space to maneuver. Park north of Strandpark Slijk-Ewijk. Then walk between the trees to the water. The water remain shallow to the right of the entry point. To the left is a deep well with the clay blocks and clay walls.
Warnings
Slijk-Ewijk Noordplas entry point can be slippery. Fast sloping bottom at the entry point. Look for anglers and make clear arrangements with them. The sand dredger may get active again in the future. This will make diving impossible.
