WIJCKERMEER

The Wijckermeer is a dive site with reasonably clear water, few objects and little marine life. Yet the lake is not completely lifeless. The site is not accessible to everyone, probably because it's a bird sanctuary. Only a few diving clubs in the region have permission to dive here. They have the key to the fence that surrounds the lake. Each club dives on a different day. Would you like to dive in the lake one day? Join one of these diving associations.
Particulars
Wijckermeer is fenced with a gate. Without a key you can not enter the terrain. The site has a small parking lot with room for about 7 cars. From the parking lot it's about a 50 meter walk to the entry point. Enter the water next to the jetty. The bottom slopes gradually. Just in front of the jetty there is a platform and further north you come across a small sailing boat at 12 meters depth. There is also a small practice course in the lake with some hoops. Visibility is usually good. With reduced visibility, the water is milky. You won't encounter much marine life, except for a few carp here and there.
Warnings
The Wijckermeer is a bird sanctuary. The lake is, except for some diving clubs, not accessible to everyone. Limited parking space. No large groups.
