ZUIDERPLAS
Nederland, Noord Brabant
The Zuiderplas or Pettelaarse Schans is characterized by a sloping bottom, beautiful green areas, large walls and lots of fish. It's a dive site for autumn and winter. In the summer visibility is usually poor. The best is a dive along the walls, with occasional school bass or a large pike. Underwater objects are not found in the Zuiderplas. There are no facilities either, but you can park directly near the water.
Particulars
Park your car along the road or in the parking lot and walk 15 to 25 meters to the entry point. The bank of the Zuiderplas is quite high in some places. This can make it difficult to enter and exit the water, so choose a good entry and exit point before you go diving. The bottom runs down fairly quickly from the shore, you are at depth quite quickly.
Warnings
Poor visibility in summer. Unpaved parking. Do not enter the water at high banks. Always use your compass. Beware of sailing boats, use a buoy if necessary. Beware of pleasure boats and anglers.
