Black Sand Wreck is also known as Boca Santu Pretu and Playa Chikitu. It's the wreck of the 36 meter long Catherine. The Catherine is broken into two pieces and lies upside down at 6 meters depth, surrounded by colonies of garden eels. The wreckage is nicely covered with brain corals and sponges. The name Black Sand Wreck is derived from the black soil sand.

Particulars

Black Sand Wreck is explores little by little. Enter the water from the shore or the boat and explore the different parts of the ship. Divers usually continue their dive after the wreck of the Catherine over the sandy plateau on their way to the northern part of Mushroom Forest.

Warnings

Boka Santu Pretu is a water sports area. Use a surface buoy.
