Booby Trap is the best dive site on Curaçao when it comes to sponges. On the sloping reef all kinds of different sponges can be found, from the regular sponge, rope sponge and the branching tube sponge to the striking elephant ear sponge. Dive over the reef and see how many different species you can determine.
Particulars
Booby Trap is accessible by boat. In addition to sponges, Booby Trap also has other interesting inhabitants. Nurse sharks, stingrays and large groupers live under the reef. Every now and then a turtle passes by.
Warnings
Watch out for pleasure boating at Booby Trap. The use of a surface buoy is mandatory on Curaçao.
