CANONES DE TAMARIU

/ 1 / 6

Cañones de Tamariu is a dive site that resembles the fingers of a hand. The fingers point to the east and consist of boulders, with sand plains in between. Dive between the fingers in search of life. You may encounter octopuses, morays and sometimes mola mola's. The north wall is the most beautifully vegetated, the coral seems to be much more colourful here and more exuberant than in other places.

Particulars

Cañones de Tamariu can be reached by boat. Descend via the anchor line, you'll end up on the roof of the reef where the fingers come together at between 9 and 12 meters. Descend further to the second finger. This is the most beautiful of the five and has a bulge that you can use as a landmark. Dive on the way back along the north side of the first finger. Halfway there is a crack in the rock where squids and moray eels hide.

Warnings

The current can be a stronger at Cañones than at other dive sites in the area. Beginners choose a shallow dive profile.
