The Casteleynsplas is the most beautiful dive site in the Dutch province Noordoostpolder. Officially only members of the NNDF and dive association De Zeewolf are allowed to dive here. The entries 1, 2 and 3 on the west side are therefore difficult to access. There is also diving on the eastern side (see map). You won't find many objects here. These can mainly be found on the west side, where wrecks and sewage pipes are submerged. Somewhere on the bottom there is also an old hearse with an (empty) coffin. Also beautiful are the banks on the south side where tree branches hang in the water. This area is beautiful with incident sunlight and there are often pike. Visibility is fairly constant in the Casteleynsplas, with peaks of up to 8 meters. It's a dive site with lots of life, including freshwater jellyfish and catfish.
Particulars
Enter the Casteleynsplas on the south or on the east banks. The entry point on the east side is the most accessible. Enter the water next to the jetty.
Warnings
Officially, only members of the NNDF and diving club De Zeewolf have access to the Casteleynsplas. The diving ban is sometimes actively enforced. Beware! High bank at the entry point on the east side.
