Blue Hole is a unique dive site on East Bonaire. The site is located in a large hole in the reef, that goes by the name Blue Hole. The size of the hole is about 120 by 75 meters. Nothing is known about its origin. Some scientists think it was created by the impact of a meteorite. Characteristic of Blue Hole are the large schools of tarpons. Sometimes you can see dozens of them, resting above the sandy bottom. Dive site Blue Hole is only suitable for experienced divers due to the current and wave action. Preferably dive with a dive guide.
Particulars
Blue Hole is reached after a long walk from the shore through knee-deep water. You then have to clamber over the reef and swim out several for dozens of meters to reach the hole.
