Capernwray is a dive site for divers of all levels. There are many arguments to dive in this old quarry. Visibility is reasonably good and there are plenty of dive facilities available. Capernwray is also come to a lot of marine life. Furthermore there are numerous objects to be found underwater, including an old Wessex Draganfly helicopter, a Dickens Class Harbour minesweeper from the Second World War, an old Hawker Siddeley 748 and a large container where you can simulate a cave dive. A shallow part of the quarry has been specially cordoned off for dive training.
Particulars
Capernwray has a jetty from which you can enter the water. Sign up at the dive center and start diving. You won't get bored in Capernwray any time soon. One of the first objects you'll encounter is a large plane wreck. It is the Hawker Siddeley 748. A medium sized propeller plane of which only 380 have been built.
Warnings
Capernwray is a popular dive site and can be very crowded at times.
