Mako’s Mountain is a remote dive site where not many people dive. Swim to the entrance of Santa Martha Bay and than walk to the rock with the sign ‘Mako's Mountain’ to enter the water. Diving here requires some experience due to the waves. The water is somewhat ‘cloudier’ than at other sites. This attracts big fish like barracuda and tarpon. The site is named after a Mako shark which was spotted here.

Particulars

Mako’s Mountain is not a busy dive site, the entry to the water is very difficult. You can expect excellent coral conditions. Sometimes you can see seahorses.

Warnings

Very difficult entry to the water. Be aware of sea urchins when going in and out of the water.
