Ghar Lapsi Black John is a less popular reef, about 50 to 60 meters of the south coast of Malta, near Ghar Lapsi. The maximum depth is about 23 to 38 meters, making Ghar Lapsi Black John the deepest dive of the Ghar Lapsi sites. Underwater you'll find a small arch, several plateaus at various depths and also some interesting rock formations near the entry point. Deeper off the reef there are large boulders, sea grass and sandy areas.

Particulars

Ghar Lapsi Black John lies close to Malta's reverse osmosis plant. It's a very remote site, so chances are you'll be diving alone. Park at the plant and walk about 200 meters to the entrance point. An other option is to enter from the Ghar Lapsi Finger Reef & Crib and swim 400 meter to Black John.

Warnings

Long walk across uneven terrain towards entry point. Currents can be strong!
