TAC CAWLA & GUDJA CAVE

Malta

/ 2 / 1

The Tac Cawla caves are wonderful. The sheer cliff wall towering above the water, continues under the sea to a depth of 35m, where the seabed is littered with massive boulders. The way the sunlight plays with the blue water and black caves is absolutely amazing. The most popular cave is probably Gudja Cave, 6 meters above sea level where you enter, then just below the surface the floor falls to 34 meters depth where you find a huge exiting arch between 20 and 34 meters deep. There are other caves at Tac Cawla, some narrow, some wider, one with air-pocket only reached after a 10 minute swim, but all going into the cliffs for 50 to 120 meters, making them fantastic cave diving opportunities.

Particulars

Caves often offer brilliant swimmthroughs, huge cracks and crevices for lots of marine life to hide, play and seek; and the caves at Tac Cawla are no different.

Warnings

Sensitive for winds from the north.
