Tertius West is a dive site in 't Gooimeer with an interesting underwater world of walls, gullies, tree trunks and the remains of an old primeval forest. The sandy bottoms of Tertius West are full of shells. These are remnants of the time when this was the Zuiderzee. The site has a beautiful drop-off consisting of gray sandstone ,that starts at 3 meters and runs down to 8-meter. Common species are crayfish, bass, pike and gobies. The water of 't Gooimeer has a light red tea color. The dive site was mapped in March 2024 by dive organizer DiveActivity. You can book dive trips to this area on their website.
Particulars
Tertius West is only accessible by boat. Book a boat trip with the MS Bull or another operator. You could also set out on your own boat.
Warnings
Tertius West is a dive site for advanced divers who know their way with their compass. Diving is only possible in March and November due to vegetation and pleasure boats. Surface buoy mandatory. Dark at depth.
