Watamula Hole is the most northerly dive site on the island, situated between West Point and North Point. Due to the rough sea it’s only accessible on calm days. Most dives here are made from a boat. Shore dives are only possible in calm weather conditions. The bottom of Watamula Hole has a gentle slope and is covered with corals, sponges and anemones. You will see different kinds of marine life such as turtles, crabs, lobsters and more.

Particulars

Just off the shore there is a big hole in the ground, in which the seawater emerges. The water rushes up with great force. It sounds like a breathing giant. That’s why this site is also called ‘The breath of Curacao’.

Warnings

Do not enter the water by jumping into the hole. Entry to the water is very difficult, always dive with a local diver. Be aware of car burglary.
