Gorgonian Passage is a spectacular dive site in Raja Ampat, Indonesia. The site consists of a natural channel between two islands, with a steep wall on the west side. Gorgonian Passage has great biodiversity. Up to a depth of 28 meters, the wall is completely overgrown with large sea fans in various colors. Gorgonian Passage is home to snappers, jacks, sweetlips and nudibranches. In strong currents, you can sometimes encounter pelagic species such as barracudas and stingrays.
Particulars
Gorgonian Passage is mainly visited by liveaboard cruises sailing around Misool and south Raja Ampat. The sailing time from Misool or Raja Ampat by speedboat is between 15 and 35 minutes.
Warnings
Gorgonion Passage has a fragile reef. Ensure good buoyancy to not damage anything. Sometimes strong currents. Bring a reef hook and only hook it to rocks.
