Dive site Salt Pier on Bonaire is closed until further notice. Last night, on Thursday 13 December 2018, a work incident took place after which the pier was closed. A ship mooring at the Cargill Terminal, caused damage to the central main screen. One rubber support, measuring 1 by 2 metres, fell into the water. Are you going to Bonaire or are diving on Bonaire right now? You can't dive at Salt Pier for the time being.

The incident has the necessary implications. An investigation will be started into the circumstances, after which repairs will have to be carried out. "We have a surveyor on site to make up a more detailed report on the circumstances and damage caused by the accident," said a spokesman.
