Old Lillebælt Bridge is interesting as dive site thanks to the old bridge pillars. The old granite pillars are magnificent to see, not only from an architectural point of view but also because of the wonderful flora and fauna. The marine life consists of crabs, lobsters, flatfish, gobies, codfish and much more. Furthermore, you can see large stones on the bottom, overgrown with carnations and orange sponges. Near the bridge there is also old war material, on either side of the pillars are defenses against mines. The Old Lillebælt Bridge was commissioned in 1935. For many years the bridge was an important part in the east-west route in Denmark and still is when it comes to rail traffic between Jutland, Funen and Zealand.
