Sha'Ab Rumi is an amazing dive site. It's known as a top diving location for shark encounters. Everything from grey reef sharks and blacktip reef sharks to hammerheads can be found here. Other permanent residents are snappers, sweetlips and dolphins. The biodiversity is unprecedented. Those who dive at Sha'Ab Rumi also follow in the foot steps of Jacques Coustea. The famous Frenchman choose this location in 1963 to built his Precontinence II for the investigation of prolonged underwater stays. You can visited the original structure during your dive.

Particulars

Sha'ab Rumi is usually reached by liveaboard. A dive on the southern plateau of this beautiful reef will not easily be forgotten. Continue to the northwest to reach the Cousteau's Precontinence II via the wall on the northeast side. It's not far from a cleaning station for grey reef sharks. Make a short stop to observe the activity.

Sha'ab Rumi has a fairly strong current. Advanced divers only.
