The Jura wreck is and one of the most beautiful fresh water wrecks in Europe. The Jura lies in the Bodensee at about 1 kilometer of the coast of Bottighofen in Switserland. It is a 42 meter long, wooden steamboat. The Jura went down in 1864, after a collision with the ship 'City of Zurich'. Warnings for dense fog, horn signals and evasion maneuvers couldn't prevent the collision. The Jura sank in no more than 4 minutes. The wreck was discovered in 1953 at a depth of 37 meters.

Cold water, take the necessary precautions. Take a good diving lamp with you. The wreck lies in a bay behind a high mountain, making it very dark.
