COD HOLE
Australie, Queensland
Cod Hole is one of the most famous dive sites in the Great Barrier Reef. The water is crystal clear and the biodiversity is truly unprecedented. The site derives its name from the enormous Queensland grouper that live here. They have been fed by divers for over twenty years and therefore feel completely at ease in your environment. They will swarm all around you during your dive, some of them weigh more than thirty kilos.
Particulars
Cod Hole is located far out to sea near Lizard Island as part of Ribbon Reef number 10 in the Great Barrier Reef. The location can be reached in four to five days from Port Douglas or Cairns, but from Lizard Island you can be there within a day. Once in the water the experience starts. The groupers will approach you up close and will curiously study your every move.
Warnings
Cod Hole is a very popular dive site and can sometimes be very crowded. Feeding the underwater life is not recommended.
