GROSSE STECHLINSEE
Duitsland
The Stechlinsee is a German dive site in the Stechnlin Nature Reserve between Neuglobsow and Rheinsberg. It's a fish-rich site with often reasonably good visibility. Diving is only allowed in the marked diving area, on the eastern side of the lake. The shallow water layers close to the shore are the most beautiful. Dive over the green carpet of aquatic plants and nice sandy flat zones, with an abundance of fish. Pre-registration. Paid diving. Take notice of opening hours.
Particulars
The Stechlinsee can be entered from a beach. You have to wade a bit to reach deeper water. The lake is more than 65 meters deep but it's no deeper than 30 meters in the defined diving area.
Warnings
Diving in the Stechlinsee is only allowed in Neuglobsow Bay. The lake can be very crowded in the summer. Register in advance. Limited number of divers per day. Boat and night diving prohibited. Paid diving. The Stechlinsee is located in a nature reserve.
