Kraaijenbergse plas 3, also called Kraaijenbergse plas Slagboom, is a nice dive site that is suitable for fun, shallow dives. Visibility is good, especially under the thermocline, and the site is quite rich in fish. Spot fish and other life in the vegetation along the banks and in the sand and go on a treasure hunt at the large, widely branched tree at 6 meters depth. You can also count on reasonable facilities, an easy access and sufficient parking space, close to the water. Take your camera with you and avoid the busy summer days!
Particulars
Entering the water at the Kraaijenbergse Plas 3 is easy. Follow the road to the barrier to reach the entry point. Park your car in front of the barrier and walk down the grass slope to get to the water (see map). Don't enter the water from the lawn, this is a private area. Underwater you'll find vegetation up to 6 meters deep, followed by a sandy bottom with mussels. In the vegetation you will find a lot of life: Large schools of small fish, perches, gobies, roaches and pike in all sizes. After about half an hour of diving you'll arrive at a large tree stump that is beautifully branched and overgrown.
Warnings
The area in front of the surf school is forbidden terrain. Kraaijenbergse Plas 3 can be busy. Many surfers and a lot off boat traffic on summer days. Use a deco buoy and a diving flag.
