The Kulkwitzer See is a beautiful and very popular dive site west of Leipzig. It's one of the more beautiful dive sites in East Germany. The site is especially known for its clear water and good visibility. The Kuklwitzer See is a former brownstone quarry. The site has several dive zones marked with buoys. Dive over the plant-rich bottom in search of marine life and objects. Pike and perch are regular residents. You will also encounter several large diving platforms, a motor yacht, anchors, car wrecks, the fuselage of an airplane, large trees and numerous other objects. Several dive centers are located at the lake. Pre-registration is not required but recommended.
Particulars
The Kulkwitzer See has three entry points. Two arr located on the east side and one on the south side. The one in the middle is the best considering its short walking distance and many facilities. Lake Kulkwitzer is located north of the Markranstadt district in Göhrenz and south of the Miltitz district in Leipzig.
Warnings
The number of divers is sometimes limited in the Kulkwitzer See. Pre-registration is not required but recommended. Paid parking.
