NEMO33 SCOUFFLENY
Belgie
NEMO33 Scoufflény is undeniably one of the most beautiful diving quarries in Belgium. It's a dive site with a great reputation. Dive site Scoufflény attracted thousands of divers from home and abroad every year. Unfortunately, the site closed in March 2092 only to reopen in July 2023. Dive among the remains of the Scoufflény granite quarry. Discover ancient tools, including the 30-meter-high wreck of the old lifting construction, now nicknamed the Eifel Tower. Visibility and biodiversity are also good and you will reach depths of up to 44 meters.
Particulars
Scoufflény is located in an agricultural area east of Hainaut and southeast of Ecaussinnes. The water can be entered from a large pontoon, with stairs, on the east side of the quarry. Underwater you'll discover a diving paradise that has been closed to the diving world for many years. Especially the huge lifting construction attracts attention. The colossus has fallen over and now rises 30 meters from the bottom, up to the surface. What else can you see? Trees, fish and car wrecks, but above all many cables, work barges, winches and numerous other old tools. Several dives are needed to really discover Scouffleny. The dive site measures 750 by 250 meters.
Warnings
Pay attention to Scoufflény's opening hours. Paid diving. Paid parking. Quickly stirring up dust. Children younger then 10 years not allowed. Individual swimming, forest walks and pets prohibited. Dive site under development.
