Ponta do Garajau is a beautiful rocky dive site off the coast of the Portuguese island, Madeira. The site is known for its groupers! They are used to divers and will often approach you very closely. You'll have to resist the tendency to pet them. The bottom structure consists mainly of rocks and sand. There are buoys on the surface that are useful for orientation.

Ponta do Garajau is a boat and shore dive site. Descend via the anchor line or from the rocky beach. The biggest challenge are the big friendly groupers that seem to be begging for attention. Will you pet them or not?
Warnings
Ponta do Garajau may have some current in the shallows. Entering the water via the rocky beach can be a bit challenging.
