MONTEREY'S BREAKWATER
Verenigde Staten, California
Monterey's Breakwater is a well-known dive site where many divers obtain their diving certificate. The site is well protected against the surf of the ocean, so you can dive almost every day of the year. Yet Monterey's Breakwater is certainly not a dive site for beginners only. It's a beautiful dive site with kelp forests and a lot of large and small marine life. Lobsters, shrimps and starfish thrive here and sometimes even sea lions, seals, otters, octopuses and mola, mola's are spotted.
Particulars
Monterey's Breakwater is an accessible dive site. Park your car in the parking garage closest to the beach and walk to the water. Now swim at the surface along the pier to the spot with the number 7 written on the breakwater and descend. Dive with the breakwater on your right. Turn around halfway through the dive and keep the breakwater on your left.
