BOCA DAS CALDEIRINHAS
Portugal
Boca das Caldeirinhas is one of the best coastal dives on the island of Faial in the Portuguese Azores. Boca das Caldeirinhas means crater wall. The site owes this name to the opening of the volcanic crater of Guia Hill. It's a dive site for everyone, from, snorkelers and unexperienced divers to technical divers.
Particulars
Enter the water from the boat. Now find your way to the large, long platform at 10 meters. Moray eels, parrotfish, groupers and wrasse thrive in this area. The platform then descends along a vertical wall to a depth of about 30 meters. If you continue to 50 meters you will reach a small cave, with a large piece of black coral.
Warnings
Diving at Boca des caldeirinhas is only possible on the sea side. The other side is a protected area.
