The Gianniola K. is a 110-meter long Dutch cargo ship, off the south coast of Rhodes, which sank in 1981. The wreck lies obliquely on the seabed with the upper deck at 15 meters and the deepest point at 21 meters. The ship's mast extends above the surface. Dive around the ship to enjoy the upper decks. Wreck divers can also enter the wreck to view the holds and engine room. The Gianniola K. is also known as Plimmiri Wreck. It's a popular dive wreck because of its accessibility, visibility and marine life.
Particulars
The wreck of the Gianniola K. can be reached in 5 minutes from the port of Plimmiri. Plimmiri lies about 85 kilometres from Rhodes Town, near Cape Vigla. It's a quiet, sandy bay with a small fishing port and a pretty taverna. You can see the mast of the Gianniola K. rising above the water when you reach the dive site. The site is marked with a buoy. Descend via the anchor line to reach the middle of the wreck.
