SALZGITTERSEE

The Salzgittersee is a former gravel pit where various water sports are practiced. It's a simple dive site with some diving facilities on the water. The diving area is located on the west side of the excavation. The site is provided with an underwater course full of objects such as statues, pots and a wreck. Each object has a signs with the courses and distances to all other objects.
Particulars
The Salzgittersee is easily accessible. Follow the signs to the west parking lot and park as close as possible to the bridge leading to the excavation. There are two entry points. Enter the water from the beach in front of the parking lot or further north from the jetty. The dive zone extends north from the entry point. A water ski slope is located on the south side. The surfing and water sports area are on the east side.
Warnings
The Salzgittersee has a confusing bottom profile of dunes and hills. Use your compass. Beware of anglers and fishing gear. Dive only in the dive zone. Bring a cart to transport your dive gear.
