The Underwater Military Museum in Aqaba is the world's first underwater military museum. It's an amazing collection of old military equipment with tanks, an ambulance, an army crane, a troopship, an anti-aircraft gun and two helicopters. All the pieces are arranged in tactical war formation. The Underwater Military Museum is suitable for divers, snorkelers and free-divers. Most objects lie between 10 and 28 meters. There are also two objects at a depth of 5 meters. The museum was developed by the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority ( ASEZA ) and opened in July 2019.
Particulars
The Underwater Military Museum is accessible from the beach or by boat. The latter is the most convenient as all facilities are available on board. You will make an impressive but very simple dive. The Underwater Military Museum lies very sheltered in the northern tip of the Gulf of Aqaba. The site is shallow and there is little or no current. Descend and start your dive past the Howitzer, the Chieftain tank and all the other objects.
Warnings
The Underwater Military Museum can be reached from the beach but a boat dive is a lot more convenient.
