Diver rescued in Miami

"Monitor weather conditions before putting yourself in a potentially dangerous situation."

Members of the U.S. Coast Guard rescued a missing diver at Government Cut in Miami. The Coast Guard received a call regarding a diver who was stranded in the water and launched a boat crew and helicopter to search the area. The helicopter crew spotted the diver a half-mile offshore and notified the boat crew, which brought him to safety.

Current too strong

The rescued man, a 50 year old diver, told the crew the current was too strong and pulled him away from his boat. He was said to be in good condition. "We are thankful that we successfully rescued the man," recue divers said in a statement. "That being said, at the time of this incident small crafts were advised not to sail out." The incidents serves as a reminder to dive safely and practice safe boating precautions. "Better safe than sorry," crew members warn. "Monitor weather conditions before putting yourself in a potentially dangerous situation."
