Punta Loma is a popular dive site in the Punta Loma Provincial Reserve in Argentina. The dive site is best known for its seals. As soon as you are in the water, they pop up to circle around you like playful acrobats. The Punta Loma reserve was established in 1967 and inhabits South America's only permanent sea lion colony.

Punta Loma is a provincial reserve just southeast of the city of Puerto Madryn on the coast of Golfo Nuevo. Puerto Madryn is known as the scuba capital of Argentina because of the numerous diving trips organized from this location. You reach the rugged coast of Punta Loma full of cormorants, sea lions and sometimes even orcas by boat.
Warnings
Punta Loma is located in a nature reserve. Take notice of the rules. You may not dive for more than 45 minutes and it is forbidden to touch the sea lions. Cold water.
