De Baars is a fish rich site with a varied underwater landscape and plenty of fish. Dive along the densely vegetated banks, clay walls, forelands, tree roots and a the tremendous amount of construction debris, including a complete church. Everything is beautifully overgrown and inhabited by fish, crabs and eels. De Baars is also known as Put van Hees, Put van Heel and Put van Casteren.
Particulars
Park at De Baars near the transmitter mast and walk across the little bridge to the water. There are two entry points. The easternmost one requires is the best. There is plenty of room to prepare and the bottom slopes gradually. Check the area around the large headland in the western corner. It's a magnificent habitat for fish and eels, formed by stones, roots and plants.
Warnings
Dive site De Baars is full of debris. Beware of sharp objects between the rubble. Parking and entering the water on the south side is impossible!
