FISH FARM FORMENTERA
Spanje, Baleares
Fish Farm Formentera, also known as Plataforma Mariana or fish factory, is an old fish farm that collapsed many years ago. The farm is partly still standing on its pillars and partly collapsed. The whole thing looks most like an oil rig. The enormous construction rises up from 35 meters to 11 meters below the surface. During your dive you'll be surrounded by large schools of fish. Fish Farm Formentera is the most famous dive site of Formentera.
Particulars
Fish Farm Formentera can be reached by boat. The boat takes about 30 minutes to reach the dive site from Ibiza. Most divers start at the bottom at a depth of 35 meters and then gradually go up to the top. A dive between the remnants of this old fish farm is described as a special experience. The environment is surreal and you're never alone. Large conger eels, schools of barracudas, amberjacks and moray eels accompany you during your dive.
Warnings
Fish Farm Formentera is not suitable for all divers. The Enriched Air Diver certification is recommended to ensure you have enough time to explore safely.
