HENNESEE
Duitsland, Nordrhein-Westfalen
The Hennesee is located in the Berghauser Baai, near the German town of Meschede. It's a dive site with steep walls, completely overgrown with mussels. The Hennesee used to be a stone quarry. Old tools remains from that time can still be seen, such as two old masts. It's a fish-rich dive site that is heavily overgrown in summer. The Hennesee is managed by the local German Rescue Brigade (DLRG). You have to register online with the DLRG before you can dive here. You can then also make an appointment to fill up.
Particulars
The Hennesee is easily accessible via a path and stairs. The bottom slopes gradually, but suddenly descends steeply to the left in the diving area.
Warnings
Stay away from the marina in the Hennesee. Swimming area cordoned off with buoy line. Register online in advance at DLRG.
