PALANCAR CAVES

The reef of Palancar Caves is full of forms and shapes. The corals forms high towers, spires, and canyons. Between the coral run Deep cracks run between the coral fields, interspersed with sandy slopes that descend into the deep. This stretch of reef also has numerous gullies and caves, but the biodiversity is not great by Cozumel's standards. It's the coral and sponges that matter most.

Palancar Caves is a boat diving location and is part of the extensive Palancar Reef. The conditions for a beautiful drift and reef dive are ideal here.
Warnings
Watch out for boat traffic at Palancar Caves. The use of a surface buoy is recommended.
