Pomente is a very nice dive site for both the beginner and the experienced diver. Underwater you will find a number of large rocks and at 13 meters depth the wreck of the Elviscot. An Italian merchant ship that ran on the rocks in 1972 and broke. Snorkelers can see the wreck and novice divers can dive around it. Only wreck divers are allowed to enter the wreck.
Particulars
Pomente can be reached, swimming from the shore. First bring your diving gear to the coast and then park your car in the village of Pomonte. The wreck is easy to find. It's marked by buoys, which are often surrounded by boats from diving schools. The Elviscot is located about 60 meters from the coast. Type: Merchant vessel. Weight: 499 tons. Deepest point: 13 meters. Most shallow point: 6 meters.
Warnings
Paid parking, in some places. Only certified wreck divers are allowed to enter the wreck of the Elviscot.
