Iceland
Silfra is a unique phenomenon in the Thingvellir National Park in Iceland. Here you literally dive or snorkel in the ravine between the American and Eurasian continental plates. There are even places where you can touch both continents simultaneously. There are more of this kind of freshwater separation on Earth, but Silfra is the best accessible for divers and snorkelers. The waters of Silfra are crystal clear, with a visibility up to 300 meters. Get ready for an amazing and phenomenal dive. Paid diving.
Particulars
Book a diving trip with one of the providers. You cannot dive here on your own. On arrival, first be surprised by the spectacular landscape of lava rock and then take the ladder to the water. The first part of the enormous ravine consists of a deep cave that runs under the road. But Silfra has more interesting areas, such as The Hall, The Cathedral, The Blue Lagoon and The Chess room.
