THE BARGE
Qatar
The Barge is a medium-sized shipwreck full of blocks, pipes and narrow passages. The wreck lies in shallow water and is therefore easily accessible. The Barge has two decks and forms a large and interesting construction to dive on.
Particulars
The Barge is situated about 300 meters from the shore, near dive site New Club Reef. A surface buoy indicates the exact location. The wreck was originally sunk near New Club Reef, but drifted off during this process only to be found hundreds meters further of shore. From the shore a long rope runs over the seabed to locate the wreck. In and around The Barge you'll encounter groupers, batfish, snappers, crabs, cuttlefish and sometimes a turtle.
Warnings
Only experienced wreck divers can enter The Barge. Beware, The Barge has very narrow passages. Parking on the beach only 4x4. Watch out for high tide.
