MANGEL HALTO BUITEN
Aruba
Mangel Halto is a slopy reef full of corals, sponges and other plants. The surroundings are beautiful. Mangel Halto, with it's crystal clear waters, white sandy beach and healthy reef is a little slice of heaven. The dive site is located outside the coastal reef of Aruba, so beware of some current especially in windy conditions. Mangel Halto, Outside is an excellent dive site to combine with the Mangel Halto, Tugboat site.
Particulars
There's a small square at the dive site, with a sign 'Mangel Halto', where you can build your set. Walk with your dive kit on over the footbridge to the small beach on your right hand side. Put on your fins about 10 meters from the shore. Now follow the light blue channel towards the open sea. The channel is rather shallow (0,5 meters). Best is to snorkel your way over there. Just west from the shallow reefcomb you will be able to pass over the reef. Beware of waves and current at this point. About 5 to 10 meters passed the reefcomb you will be able to descend to about 3 meters. Swim outwards to the south and follow the shore either to the left or to the right.
Warnings
Pleasure boating, especially speedboats. Take a deco buoy with you.
