DE OUDE TRAMBRUG

/ 1 / divemap

The Oude Trambrug is a dive site in the Eindhovens Kanaal (Eindhoven's channel). The tram bridge was demolished at the end of 1930, but the massive bridge foundations were spared to serve as a winter home for bats. Few people know that they are also an excellent habitat for fish. The construction dates from the end of 1800, when a steam tram was still operational between the cities of Den Bosch and Helmond.

Particulars

De Oude Trambrug is easily accessible. Enter the water on the left side of the bridgehead. Dive along the banks to spot most of the fish and see the most beautiful biotopes. Stop at the bridgeheads, there's often fish there.

Warnings

Diving with groups is not possible at het Oude Trambrug. Watch out for rowers.
