AMPHORAE CAVES
Cyprus
Amphorae Caves is a dive site with several caves and swim throughs. The site has significant archaeological value. The ceiling of one of the caves contains remains of ancient amphorae. Amphorae are ancient ceramic jars, used for storage and transportation of products. You can see them by briefly poking your head into the cave and shining your lamp at the ceiling. The deepest part of Amphorae Caves is a large sandy area with patches of seagrass where you can sometimes spot stingrays.
